I have forgotten, or don't know my username and/or password. What should I do?


Reset Password

If you have forgotten your Sussex IT password and would like to reset it, please follow the password reset instructions

Change Password

If you have a password, or IT have provided one, and you would like to change it, please follow the change password instructions.

BSMS 

If you have forgotten your BSMS credentials for access to Sussex systems, please visit the  on the Sussex campus,  Please bring your BSMS Student Registration Card with you and we will issue you with a new password.

 

which username should I use?

Some systems require your Sussex username, for example ano123

Other systems require that you add @sussex.ac.uk on the end of your username

Use your username to log in to:

(e.g. ano123)

Use your username@sussex.ac.uk

(e.g. ano123@sussex.ac.uk) to log in to:

  • Desktop computers
  • Most other Sussex systems
  • eduroam (wi-fi or wired)
  • Canvas
  • Microsoft Office
  • Box

 

Note: Once your password has been changed, it can take up to 15 minutes for it to update across all systems

Staff systems

The advice above is for usernames or passwords for Sussex email, Sussex Direct, Canvas and PC logins to student or teaching computers. If you are a member of staff and need a new password for Web Reports or the Course Management System, please complete the online help request form.
