  • How are degree apprenticeships funded?

Business apprenticeships are funded from the employer’s Apprenticeship Levy, which is applicable to organisations with a pay bill of more than £3 million annually. The Government will also provide an annual allowance of £15,000, so that employers can draw down the full amount of their levy funds to spend on business apprenticeship training.

For companies with a pay bill of less than £3 million, employers pay 5% and the Government pays 95% to the business apprenticeships provider.

For companies with a pay bill of less than £3 million and more than 50 employees, the Government funds 100% of the apprenticeships.

For companies with fewer than 50 employees, there is the chance to apply for a local levy transfer programme.

You can use the Best Apprenticeships  to work out if your organisation will pay into the levy, estimate how much you’ll have to spend on business apprenticeship training, and calculate the Government’s contribution towards the cost of training.

  • How does the ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë support employers?

We will advise you about all aspects of a degree apprenticeship.

We will work with you to understand your business and skills priorities and advise you on how our apprenticeships can best help your organisation.

We can support you in setting up your Apprenticeship Service Levy account and create a record for each of your business apprentices. You can also ask us to do this for you.

We will also work with you to create all mandatory documentation (Apprenticeship Agreement and Training Plan) and through our Contract for Services we will ensure that you meet your own evidence requirements during the life of the business apprenticeship.

We will also hold a termly Tripartite Review with your apprentice and their line manager or mentor to review progress and readiness for the End Point Assessment. We will record and track any actions agreed.
