Important update to the Procedure for the Investigation of Allegations of Misconduct in Research
Please be aware that the University’s Research Governance Committee (URGC) have recently added a new Annex to the Procedure for the Investigation of Allegations of Misconduct in Research, specifically for doctoral researchers.
The new Annex makes explicit how the procedure applies to doctoral researchers throughout all stages of their doctoral studies. An interpretation of the Procedure as it stood might lead to the conclusion that it applied only following the submission of the thesis for examination. The Committee requested that a new appendix to the Procedure be drafted to remove procedural uncertainties.
