On this module you’ll focus on current issues in conservation as you develop your independent learning.

Topics include, but are not limited to,

  • intensive farming practices
  • rewilding projects
  • national parks and protected areas
  • invasive species
  • issues in marine conservation.

You’ll study a selection of important conservation topics in depth, with flexibility for investigating sub-topics.

Module learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of current issues in conservation science.
  • Critically evaluate and communicate current conservation science methods and data to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and work effectively and independently whilst conducting an independent investigation to advance understanding in a topic.
  • Synthesize knowledge and present information through a variety of visual and written media.
