Political Ecology and Environmental Justice

This module introduces the concepts of environmental justice and political ecology, examining:
- theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding the relationship between environmental change and social (in)justice
- the role of political ecology as a public-facing discipline engaging with activism and social movements.
The module is structured into three sections:
- Weeks 1-3: theoretical insights of political ecology and environmental justice
- Weeks 4-5: workshops on communication techniques and groupwork on student assessments
- Weeks 6-9: case studies and guest speakers discussing current political ecological concerns.
