Clinical Investigation of Disease (C7165)

Spring teaching
On this module, you'll be introduced to clinical investigation of disease. You'll integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application, developing professional skills in the biomedical arena. This module has a focus on clinical biochemistry and haematology.
You'll focus on clinical aspects of pathology, including biochemistry, microbiology, virology and haematology. You will learn the chemistry of the human body in health and disease through clinical case studies that investigate diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of selected pathologies using contemporary lab techniques.
You’ll develop your professional biomedical skills, including:

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 48 hours of contact time and about 252 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
