Spring teaching

This module will introduce you to concepts and theory relevant to playable media. You will investigate aspects of games studies that will inform an investigation of a broad range of playable media artefacts, both historical and current. The module will consist of a theoretically informed written component and a creative project, in which you will use software and other tools to create your own interactive games/playable media.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 15 hours of contact time and about 135 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
